Megane IV RS Trophy-R - Carbon Bonnet
Renault Sport Megane Mk4 RS Trophy-R Hood in Carbon Fibre
A distinctive feature of New MÉGANE R.S. TROPHY-R is its new Carbon-Fiberglass composite bonnet with NACA air intake.
With high intake but low drag, the duct in the bonnet optimizes the cooling of the engine compartment under high speed stresses.
Cooling at speed is boosted by an extractor under the engine, while side louvres also help the cooling process to improve engine efficiency.
Inside the carbon bonnet there are also channels that allow rain water to drain away without allowing water to enter the engine bay,
Weight:
Carbon Bonnet: 8kg
Factory Metal: +/- 16kg
At 8kg, this carbon bonnet is half the weight of the standard car’s steel item.
Carbon fibre is used for the distinctive NACA air intake and the bonnet lining, while the rest of the louvered panel is fibreglass.
As a further touch, New MÉGANE R.S. TROPHY-R uses the lighter opaque and hollow Renault grille badge usually reserved for models equipped with adaptive cruise control.
